Electronic price labeling on the sales floor
SportScheck has been a central meeting place for people with healthy and sporty lifestyles for over 70 years. It all started in 1946, when Otto Scheck tailored the first collection for winter sports from old military clothing. Now the company has been around for just under 70 years and boasts an enormous size, with 34 stores across Germany and more than 10 million visitors a year. The online store is also growing and now includes 50,000 items from over 500 brands.
With these key figures, it seems smart to go digital step by step. A first step in this direction was the decision to no longer have to label merchandise and sporting goods by hand. So SportScheck researched various providers of electronic price tags and finally decided on e-shelf labels. The first conversion from analog to electronic labels has already taken place at the stores in Leipzig and Stuttgart.
SportScheck and e-shelf-labels chose the SoluM operating system with the integrated AIMS cloud solution for the price labels. Regarding the display size of the labels, there were two different sizes, each perfectly suited for the chosen application scenario. For the footwear department, the 4.3 inch version and for the wearables, the 1.6 inch version. With the cloud "Advanced Information Management System" (AIMS), the entire ESL system can now be managed from the workplace, ensuring a consistent appearance across the different stores. Quickly updating labels as price or information changes occur now poses no problems and is done in a snap.
FINALLY EFFICIENT AND SUSTAINABLE
"The benefits of renewing the labels in the stores not only brings enormous time savings for employees, but also creates a modern and future-oriented environment in the store. As a result, nothing stands in the way of an optimal shopping experience for the customer." - Mr. Eickhoff, Shop Manager
